JP. will greet you as if you're an old friend! His menu is authentic and extensive and also includes excellent vegan options as well .The restaurant is spotless and cozy! It's become a favorite place for us.
I loved everything about this place. We were immediately welcomed when we walked in and the owner took the time to tell us all about their vegan options. The food is absolutely delicious and the people will make you feel at home. This is a must when you’re in Homestead.
Everything I have tried has been delicious, the most tender curry goat I've ever had. Generous portions make it a good value.
The food was amazing! We ordered the jerk chicken wings, griot, and curry goat. I would recommend them all. There was so much flavor in each. I loved the sweet plantains. My husband confiscated the rice, because he enjoyed it so much.
Great little restaurant with amazing food! I have dairy allergies, and the owner was great on making sure allergens were well communicated. For anyone else with dairy allergies, the majority of the menu is safe! We are so happy we found this restaurant through Google!
If you drive to quick you will definitely pass it. But its definitely worth parking for. Right on Krome in Homestead this hidden gem has a delicious Vegan menu and let me tell you the Caribbean flavors are amazing 🙌🙌🙌 Had a quick brunch earlier in the day and loved it so much i had my co-workers return 2 days in a row for lunch!!! Festivals and Curry Tofu 😍 ill be back for you!!! Thank you for the yummy food!!!
Best vegan options around!! The food is amazing quality
I am a resident of Homestead came here for the first time today because there was a FB Post on City's page stating it that this was "the best Jamaican/Haitian restaurant in town". Let me tell you , they were 💯 right. This place did not let down!!! Why hadn't I stopped here sooner!! The restaurant is small and unassuming but, don't let that fool you! We had the snapper and shrimp (steamed) with white rice, jerk salmon. For me, as a vegetarian option, I had Leon's legumes with rice & peas and plantain- The food was soooo delicious! The owner was so welcoming, friendly and gracious. He asked if it was our first time and he took the time to explain the menu items and chat with us. They have my heart- new favorite spot!
JP was a great host and helped us choose the right dishes for my husband and I. My husband had curry goat and I had jerk chicken. We also had the conch fritters. All dishes were fabulous! Oh and we had the key lime pie which was so refreshing! Definitely would recommend!
Nice staff. Made it easy for deliveries.
Jerk tofu was amazing. Awesome service and food
This place has AMAZING jerk. It’s a shady little spot but as soon as you walk in the smell of home cooked jerk caresses your face and you know the food is going to be good. There’s a small casual dining area if you want to eat in.
Owner was incredibly nice and the goat curry was incredible. I highly recommend it. Also make sure you try their juice of the day. I can’t exactly remember what he said was in it but it was delicious.
If you are looking for a great restaurant with an incredible long bar, with an amazing view of lower Manhattan directly across the HUDSON River, and an upscale sports bar type menu, then Hudson & Company is the place for you. I had a German pretzel as an appetizer and a personal pizza. Both excellent.
Excellent flavors and very friendly towards Gluten Free Vegans!
The place looks shady from outside. But once we entered, we found welcoming hospitality and great foods. Jerked chicken and brown stewed chicken are great. To our surprise, sweet and sour chicken was better than any of the American-Chinese restaurants.
My wife picked this restaurant based on the reviews. When we got there she waited in the car while I went in to order. I was shocked when I saw the restaurant. I took one look at the restaurant and walked back out to the car. I told my wife she should look at this first and tell me if she still wants me to order food. She refused to look, she just said that the reviews said it looked bad but was really good. So I went ahead and ordered. We are vegan so we ordered some jerk tofu and honestly I don't remember what else we ordered. We were definitely not disappointed. Five stars were definitely well deserved!
Amazing foodGuided by the reviews, my husband and I dropped in for dinner on a Monday night only to find that the restaurant was almost full. We ordered a jerk chicken and a jerk pork and they were both amazing. The meat was tender and it was incredibly tasty, and spicy with just the right amount of heat. We also tried their home-made juice - mango, passionfruit and ginger and it was terrific. This is a family owned restaurant and looks pretty dingy from the outside, but the food is amazing. The service was super friendly, the portions were generous, and it was very reasonably priced!
Fantastic food. Family had the griot, jerk chicken, goat curry, and conch fritters. Every bite was delicious. The chef was very friendly and walked us thru the menu. Beautiful presentation. Definitely recommend and can't wait to return.
Delicious food at very reasonable prices. There are Vegan & vegetarian options as well. Limited seating. Warm friendly environment. Happy to find
Great Food, very nice owner. Best Jamaican food I had outside of Jamaica. Try it!
First time here and the food was delicious! It was great! The owner explained the whole menu and was very detailed. I had the Yo Man Jerk Chicken. The meat was coming out of the bone and wanting to jump right into my mouth! Super flavorful. The spices were perfect along with the salad, rice with peas, and sweet plantain. My wife has the same but with salmon and it was very moist, juicy, and fresh! We both had the juice of the day which was a mix of 4 berries and ginger. Best natural juice I’ve had so far. I felt I was in the Caribbean. for dessert we had the coconut rum cake. The cake was very moist and topped with an awesome coconut sauce. Our bodies and souls were happy! Definitely recommended and will be coming back for more delicious food!
Best Caribbean food I've ever eaten and while I thought the 2nd best was good, it's not close. If jerked lamb shank is available as a special, GET IT. Nuff said. You won't regret visiting.
My group of 7 had an awesome experience here. We were worried we'd fill the room. From one of the friendliest owners I've ever met to absolutely amazing food everyone left full and happy. Highly recommend the fresh juice.
Came for a vegan meal and was not disappointed. Such amazing flavor in all the meals we ordered. Definitely recommend it!
The place serves large portions and for reasonable pricing. helpful owner. 5 stars.
Wowwwwww! Stumbled across this place by chance and I am so glad I did. We ordered a home made juice (strawberry, mango and ginger) fish dip, the BEST conch fritters I have ever had in my life, fish empanadas and curry shrimp with polenta. Everything was mind blowing. I don’t eat meat but My friend ordered the jerk lamb shank and he said it was amazing as well. It’s a small locally owned spot. The husband and wife are running the place and cooking the food. They are amazing and everything went smooth. Great place all around.
Awesome home cooked food and excellent service. The food is so flavorful and you can taste the love in every bite. Can't wait to come back.
Looks not that attractive from outside, but it's owner are good people and the food is very good, unique, and authentic Haitian.
The food was phenomenal. This is a tiny place with only a couple of people working. It has to be some of the best food and beverages that have ever passed my lips.
Businesses need to take a lesson here in customer service. Hands down this place has some of the best Jamaican food. We ate curry chicken, curry goat, fried chicken wings, conch fritters, pumpkin soup and cake. And yes, all of it was delicious! We'll be back for more very soon!
First time and great food. The owner is quite friendly too and reasonably priced! We will certainly return.
Wonderful quaint atmosphere with mind blowingly good food. It’s not often you get to have your meal cooked by the owner and then get to chat with him while you eat. JP (the owner) works hard and it shows in the final product. Would recommend and will be back!
Passing through Homestead and stopped here for dinner because of the good Yelp reviews. We were not let down either. The restaurant is small and unassuming but don't let this fool you! We had the pork griot and the Jamaican curry goat. The food was amazingly delicious and the owner very gracious and friendly. He took time to explain the menu items and chat. Whenever I'm in this area again we will definitely stop here.
I pass by here all time and stopped. Today while searching for vegan restaurants this restaurant popped up so me and my daughter decided to give a try. I am so glad we did. Everything was tender, juicy, flavorful, and well seasoned. We can't wait to go back.
The absolute best place for Jamaican/Haitian cuisine. I came across this gem of a restaurant years ago and have become great friends with the owner and their family. The food is made to order and there are plenty of vegan options to choose from. My favorites are the curry lentils and tofu with white rice and plantain. The veggie empanadas are so delicious as well. My family enjoys the jerk chicken and oxtail. Oh, and the snapper? Amazing! During COVID-19, you can call and place an order for pick-up. They also have limited indoor seating due to the CDC guidelines so please know that the door is closed. Do come by and enjoy delicious food and great hospitality!
Easily the friendliest Caribbean food establishment that I’ve ever been to. They serve your stereotypical Jamaican AND Haitian Caribbean foods that the world loves to feast on. The owners were very warm, fast and quick to answer any questions which more than make up for the size and location. I LOVE Jamaican paddies, but they served me the absolute best paddy I’ve ever had. Freshly handmade, crispy, straight from the oven goodness! At $3 a pop, I’ll be right backFor their main entrée, I had the Curry Goat. It was very savory, so full of flavor and the meat slid right off the bone. The portion size is just right as well. Served with a side of Jamaican Pineapple Ginger Soda and you’re set! Finish it all off with a slice of Rum Cake and you’ll leave with a smile. I’ll definitely return to try out the Haitian side of the house next time. Can’t wait.
Zazie is a favorite of mine. Brunch, lunch, dinner. It doesn't matter when you go. The food is always perfect! Gingerbread pancakes, burger, duck, mussels, pork chop. Whatever you choose, you won't be disappointed. The food is fresh and delicious. And the service is excellent... always feels like dining with old friends. I love this place!
If you’re camping in the Everglades and need a break from cooler cooking, it’s about 10 miles from the Visitor Center to the the most delicious meal you can’t make yourself. A combo of Haitian and Jamaican fare, the Yo Mon Jamaican Jerk Chicken is falling off the bone flavorful. The traditional Haitian dish, Legume sounded odd when owner JP described it ... who would order mashed vegetables over rice? It was plate licking good! Try the conch fritters as an app and take a slice of coconut rum cake and key lime pie back to the tent cause you will want to savor your flavors and love the sweets later.
PHENOMENAL! Not much more I can say. The owner is incredibly friendly and the food is out is this world delicious! I wish I wasn't on vacation and could eat here all the time.
My wife and I went here on vacation last year to Miami and Yardie Spice was worth the detour... it’s been over a year and we still talk about it. We use yardie spice as the top of our local restaurant rating system.I can’t wait to go back to South Florida to go to Yardie Spice.
Most delicious Jamaican food. The Curry Goat was less spicy than I hoped but full of amazing flavors.
Place was small, cozy, and friendly. Owner was great, explaining all the dishes and giving recommendations. Food was so amazing and full of flavor. The spicy dishes had just the right amount of heat and kept fabulous flavor. Would recommend the Griot, jerk chicken, and veggie legume. Family friendly.
The food tastes like authentic Jamaican and Haitian cuisine and the service was excellent! I would definitely eat here again. I was happily surprised to see that they had a vegan section on the menu. Both vegans and non-vegans in our party of 5 enjoyed their meals. The only reason I did not give five stars is because the ambiance needs some work and the seating area is very small. Overall great restaurant though.
Always hot and fresh and loaded up! Jerk chicken is my go to
Simple, healthy, quick and delicious food. 11/10
Awesome place. Owner is super friendly. Food is great
During a quick TDY, had the opportunity to have lunch here (per the recommendation of our hotel) - absolutely SUPERB! Each of us tried something different on the menu and no one was disappointed. The food presentation, the food temperature, the flavor were all spot on and the service was true Caribbean hospitality (at its best)! I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a great meal and amazing service!
Amazing food owner took his time to explain us his menu... really respectful guy and really made sure everything was perfect for us... highly recommend it... small place some people might think isn't worth the try I will highly suggest that you try...
Vegan legume, rice and plantains were like a nice tasty comfort food. Worth the detour from leaving the Everglades. My partner loved his empanada.
